Miles of all sports waterways cut through Gladwin County with the Tittabawassee River
System. Both Secord and Wixom Lakes are very popular because of their size recreational
possiblities. They are the two largest lakes in the Gladwin and Clare County area. Spend your
entire day on a boat, viewing miles of shoreline.
Secord Lake starts at the north end of Gladwin County and is part of the Tittabawassee
River. Secord Lake covers over 1800 acres and cuts through three townships, (Bourret,
Clement and Secord Twp). It stretches approximately seven miles from Wildwood Road to the
Secord Dam.

Wixom Lake is at the southern end of Gladwin County and is fed by both the Tittabawassee
and Tobacco Rivers. With Wixom Lake covering over 2000 acres, it stretches from the
Smallwood Lake Dam, ten miles to the most southern end of the lake. There is an additional
four miles stretching to the northwest as part of the Tobacco River to Dale Road.
